K-12 Teaching Artist

IMG_20140218_124908_857Anita Woodley is a professional K-12th Literary Arts Teaching Artist for the Durham Arts Council’s Creative Arts in the Public/Private Schools (CAPS) program. It provides an easy-to-use and effective way for educators to integrate the arts into the curriculum. Anita customizes each program to accommodate the students/teachers needs concerning real-life issues and campus culture.

To-date her creative and interactive residencies/workshops covered topics such as self-esteem, bullying,  confidence building, values, peer pressure, improvisation, storytelling, respect, body image, healthful eating habits, fitting into the “in” crowd, African to African-American Heritage Month, Character education, theatrical skills, and a variety of life skills through the arts.
